Barış için Müzik Vakfı
The Music for Peace Foundation (Barış İçin Müzik Vakfı) aims to provide disadvantaged children with facilities, instruments and teachers for music education and performances through ensemble groups; drawing especially on the principles in the UN Convention on Children's Rights that every child has a human right of access to education and to participate freely in cultural life and the arts. The founders Mehmet and Yeliz Baki believe that peace is fundamental to solving all mankind's problems including hunger, health and education. As Music knows no borders and has the power to create miracles, it constructs non-political bridges between cultures, religions and countries leading to peace. The fundamental aim is to reach as many children as possible by offering music lessons completely free of charge.
